I found a camera...

Post

I was lucky enough to go to the Belgian GP and was seasted in a stand on the final chicane/pit entry lane.

shortly before the finish Barichello had a small shunt and damaged his front wing. After the race finished the circuit wall was opened and, along with thousands of others, I went onto the track. Unfortunately I didn;t get any of the pieces of wing, but I did find a camera lying on the grass adjacent to where the accident occurred. The camera was clean and dry (qualy was wet!), so I'm guessing it is from that collision, but it seems a bit bulky to have fitted in the camera housings we see on the cars.

I took a lok in the technical regualtions, but that doesn;t give any details or dimensions for the cameras, only the positions for the camera housings on the cars. Does anyone have any info on what the cameras are like?

I've taken a couple of pics in case it helps...

P.S. it's a bit crunched, so it isn't a working version any more!

There are dimensions for the camera housings on pages 39 to 43 in the Appendix...

I think yours looks too big. Might be a CCTV camera for security or for the stewards to monitor the track.
