Ted: McLaren's migrated to the same wheelnut system as Merc and later Ferrari.

They have changed the same area on the front wing that they changed in Bahrain except is seems it is just one diagonal slot as opposed to a few horizontal ones.

Front wing remains the same, kinda disappointed with McLaren updates this season.

Whats that piece of bodywork that you can see going across the top of the nose just after the suspension mounts???

Its like some kind of air deflector to lift the airflow up before it hits the driver?

Anderson on the beeb said it was a sighting device to see what a higher chassis would look like from the drivers pov.
Became a McLaren fan in the late 70's when I ended up laminating their Kevlar nosecones.

Fifth driver said on twitter(mclaren website)that it was to simulate potential sight-lines for next year's car.

But isn't the chassis height lowering next year anyway to roughly 550mm? i.e mclaren style. So what would be the point? or have I got it wrong

edit: max chassis height*

Could be checking to see how low they can get the drivers in comparison with the highest point of the chassis for center of gravity reasons.

Button didn't seem to be happy with the visibility. Don't know Hamiltons opinion.

Hamilton´s seating position looks perfect, notice how his helmet fits perfect with the bottom part of the intake.

Both McLaren boys commenting on having "massive" understeer.

Due to a more effective back end from the new nose? Unbalancing their previous setups and requiring more front wing?

Due to the new nose being less efficient at proving front downforce than the old nose?

EDIT:

Button just came in after complaining about understeer. THey sent him right back out with more clicks on the front wing and he's immediately complaining about "Un-be-lievable understeer guys, unbelievable understeer.".

Adding more front wing made the understeer worse???
