Impressive flow chart there Giblet! Thanks for sharing!

Gives a good insight into the world of motorsport and all the buying and selling that goes on.

What I find interesting is how everything made sense until Proton, then it went crazy.

I threw up that DoD flowchart mostly as a gag, because it's notorious for world-class bureaucracy. It's still emblematic of how ideas are treated, though. The further one moves from its progenitor, the more haphazardly its handled.

Ford, I think, is another excellent example of those effects. While GM and Chrysler floundered through the recession, Ford remained steady, and - without government backing - returned to profitability long before its domestic rivals. Not to oversimplify things, but I think the fact that the Ford family still controls the company played a significant role.
