Most commercial cfd packages have a basic integrated post process (e.g. ansys-fluent or star ccm+), but there specific softwares of different verndors which are dedicated to post-process alone, i.e. the production of images, plot and movies.
So the dat produced with a certain solver (fluent, star, openfoam etc) could be loaded in tha same post process software and give images with the same appearance.
Some popular commercial post process sw are Ensight and Fieldview; Paraview and OpenDX are freeware sw.
You could browse cfd-online to have a more complete list of the softwares.

Indeed... CFD is one thing... visualization is another.

I agree with the two posts above! Bear in mind though, the actual mesh and calculations that the software will make are much more important than visualization

Mesh and calculations are most important part as itself has a purpose, visualization is just part of a cake, if I could rate I think that in every aspect of CFD ANSYS-Fluent wins! If you can afford it.

Talking of which, we use ANSYS Fluent with Harpoon for mesh generation but are considering XFlow. The developers claim it is used by an F1 team.

We're finding xflow is delivering output in something like 25% of the analysis time required for CFX, presumably due to LES (see Cam's post http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... 25#p365225) .

Does anyone have experience of LES or XFlow?

This is postprocessed in Paraview and I think solved with OpenFOAM.

We do a lot of DES simulation within OpenFOAM. Visit http://www.totalsimulation.co.uk to see some examples.
