Best of Mates

Post

Whenever Kimi and Seb. come together it seems as if they have a private party going on. Smiles, hand jokes and all. It really seems genuine and prompted me to start this topic. I'll list a few good mates in F1 (team mates particularly). Post the ones you know of, and hopefully we'll collectively be improving our knowledge about the history of the sport :) :

Hill and Villeneuve:

This was the first full season of F1 I got to experience. I knew they were sort of friends at the time, but still it was odd because the 2nd place finisher loses the lead on the final lap but goes on to hug the eventual winner ?!? I mean... Get real :) To this day I think that the gearbox issue was a made up story and Hill just wanted to help Jacques in the title race against Schumi

Francois Cevert and Jackie Stewart:

I haven't heard much about their friendship but it is said that they were good mates and Cevert's untimely passing spurred Jackie even more in raising his voice about driver safety. It could be argued that his efforts were significant in saving others' lives.

Gerhard Berger and Ayrton Senna:

The pranks they pulled of on each other back in the day are still prominent among the fans of the sport. Years after his passing, Berger helped his nephew get into F1.

Now onto you !

They seem to get along well. Webber and Coulthard seemed to be pretty friendly as well

Perhaps one of the more well known ones, but I'll put it out there just for the sake of this topic!
