2.4L V8 or 2.4L V10 -which one is powerful

More number of cylinders will make it powerful or faster. Like if there are
more cylinders ok so more number of power strokes so I guess it will be faster , but has the cylinder will burn less fuel for each powerstroke as
air intake will decrease as cylinder is small so less powerful stroke but
frequency of powerstrokes will increase right.

So what difference it will make exactly ,would the cars would have
travelled faster or slower if it would have been V10 .

The volume of gas would be the same, the engines would have the same displacement. But with more cylinders, you can get less mass per each part. And with lighter parts, you can spin the engine to higher RPM.
Honda made that theory valid when they built their multi cylinder road race motorcycles of the 60's

Don't forget the slight friction increases and less vibration with more cylinders.

so it means more no. of cylinders the greater will be the rpm so faster the cars will go, as more the number of cylinders the greater the frequency
of power strokes right and engine will be made up with lighter parts and
fuel intake and burning will be more homogeneous and better so more Joules of energy .
Then more cylinders will make car faster right .......

If you don't have problem with weight, dimensions and costs than the answer is yes. BRW V16 had only 1.5 liter and 16 cylinders!

It certainly seems that with more cylinders there is the chance to make more power. Whether this makes tha CAR faster is another thing entirely

It's about finding the right balance between most power and how the power is delivered and how the engine is packaged in the chassis. A shorter lighter engine has benefits in allowing a more agile car (probably needs to carry less fuel and has a smaller cooling requirement too), so this is balanced against lap time gains from more power.

If we had no traction control and manual gearboxes and no fixed number of cylinders rule I'm sure that the V8 would have been the engine of choice for some teams.

If you say more cylinders=more rpm . Then where do V8s fit in as they dont have very high rpm limits .

When you say they don't have high rpm limits what do you have in mind? 2.4l V8 engines make over 20.000 rpm on dyno...
2.4l V10 would make more than that

Perhaps you need to think of smaller cylinders give the potential for higher rpm. So, with a fixed capacity formula having more cylinders lets each set of moving parts be lighter (pistons, cam lobes, valve gear, con rod etc.), so can rev higher.

That's one reason why motorcycle racing set cylinder limits in various classes as way to control power outputs.

1 cylinder = 300 cubic centimeters or 0.3 liters

V8 – 8 X 300 (0.3) = 2400 (2.4)

V10 – 10 X 300 (0.3) = 3000 (3.0)
