Centre of gravity debate

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Centre of gravity debate

Post

Been doing some research on centre of gravity and cornering speed recently (including some on this forum), and opinions to the following question seem to be divided ... let's debate it because I am very curious to know the answer.

We have two cars (one with high CofG and one with low CofG). Let's say that the higher CofG car has the stiffer roll bars adjusted to ensure body-roll is the same for lateral loads in both cars. Which car corners faster?

You just asked this in the other thread, no? Probably should keep discussion in one place so it's easier to follow.
Grip is a four letter word. All opinions are my own and not those of current or previous employers.

Shouldn't these topics go to the Chassis topics anyway? In my view, they have nothing to do within engine, transmission and controls.

Thought I would create a new post because the other thread had two questions and was becoming convoluted.

Questions were answered on the other thread, but different people gave different answers so I thought this could be an interesting debate - if it goes against the forum rules then feel free to delete this thread :|
