Why arent the teams allowed to make their own fuel rigs? If this was allowed to happen there would be less accidents.
Also why don't the teams have NASCAR style fuel canisters (that use gravity to get the gas into the cars) as a back-up for the pressurized Intertechnique rigs?

Humm....good question! Well if F1 teams built their own rigs probably you would see ven more accidents! Fuel rigs are set to pump 12 litres a second (around 10kg a second)....if teams built their own fuel rigs you would see teams setting their rigs to 20 litres a second......or even higher!
The second part of the question!...teams usually have 2 rigs (3 at most) if one has a problem tehy'll just use the other one! And the probability of having problems in both of them if very small.
Making the teams use the same fuel rig makes it a "fairer" sport....cause everyone has the same equipment (in spite the fact that in other areas tehey don't have the same equipment.....)
