After Ferrari and VET and RAI throwing away the Championships it is time for a reset. HAM retires as Champ and becomes ambassador of Greenpeace while partying and producing music in the Caribbean.

Ferrari: LEC/PER
Mercedes: VET/RAI
Red Bull: VES/GAS
McLaren: SAI/NOR
Findia: STR/OCO
Sauber: ERI/GIO
Toro Rosso: KVY/VAN
Haas: GRO/MAG
Williams: SIR/RUS
Renault: RIC/HUL

PS. I m really tired of this LEC or RAI Saga.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Hamilton's social media would suggest he is still hungry for wins. I don't think he is going to retire anytime soon.
He did not win the British GrandPrix this year, so i am sure he would love to win it again.
Secondly Hamilton will probably announce his retire at the start of a season, more than he would at the end. He would like the fans to know he would be racing at his home grand prix for the last time. The FiA would love that as well, it would draw in more money for them.
For Sure!!

It doesnt get much sillier than this

Raikkonen to drive and take part ownership at Sauber for 2019
The longer they take to announce, the sillier it could get. The fact they have not, as yet, confirmed anything is odd in itself.

This should have been sorted at Monza. I get the impression Ferrari management are trying to arrange something to appease all parties, while compromising none, which is just not possible.

Well they were right about the drive. He's driving 2019/2020.

I wonder if the ownership rumour is also true?

It's official Kimi is driving for Sauber next season

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/13863 ... r-for-2019

It's a golden move for Ferrari and Sauber actually. Ferrari can start a new era with Leclerc at Ferrari and Sauber gets the highly experienced Kimi. He perfectly knows how the Ferrari goes and he can make the comparison with Sauber. Kimi as a first driver at Sauber, I think we can expect some beautiful results next season for both Ferrari and Sauber.

And for the fans, Kimi is not leaving F1! [-o<

I don't think a driver would ever own an F1 team. They can just drive/turn up in sunglasses and let someone else take the financial ruin.

Possibly a 'shares for wages' deal? Would probably suit both parties.

Does not mean he has to get mixed up in the management. Just get the perks :D
As I said above, Kimi probably has more pocket cash than he knows whet to do with, so having a chunk of the team instead of pay means he has a continuing link with F1 and they get a driver they can not afford.

So what seats are left unconfirmed / likely?

Force India - Stroll / Perez
Haas - Grosjean / KMag
Williams - Sirotkin? / Somebody
Sauber - Kimi / Somebody
STR - Kyvat / Somebody

Ericsson not being announced at the same time suggests there could still be a fight going on, likely between him and Giovinazzi. Seems probable that Haas stick with what they have now Leclerc isn't available, so the only other stories to be resolved are who Red Bull put in the STRs and if Merc manages to squeeze Ocon in at Williams ahead of whatever other rich Russian wants the seat.

He could just drive for free then?

It might have been some years ago but don't forget how Bruce McLaren won with his own car.
