Sounds like a very convenient way to prevent wheel spin. I'm interested in why you're taking such as dismissive stance about this. TC and all related tech is banned. I don't see it as easily dismissed if there is public statements about a behavior that could easily mimic this banned driver aid.
1. If it was TC, the driver would be aware of it being on the car
2. If the car has TC, the driver certainly wouldn't be drawing attention to it in such a fashion - he'd more likely say "I got a bit of wheelspin and it ruined by start", not "I got symptoms that might be construed as having TC fitted to my car".
3. TC is intended to improve traction and maximise drive away from standstill or corners. TC would make the take off from the line better, not worse.

You are implying the Mercedes has TC as it's a convenient way to exlain why they are better than your preferred team.
I've heard rumors about traction control or a steerable rear axle :-) It probably can not be true :-P

2014 - 2016 -> Mercedes dominating, hmm lets change the rules, they'll surely topple.
2017 - 2018 -> Mercedes still dominating, although less so. Hmm not quite, let's change a little bit more, they'll surely topple this time.
2019 ... 5 one-twos -> Hmm, faak!!!

Great pass by Albon on Kimi on the outside of turn 4. #-o The Sky commentators should spend less time listening to themselves and more time watching what's going on.

Ferrari needs to remove the human element from team orders. If your teammate is within DRS range and doesn't make the pass, and if he's within DRS range again on the next lap, let him pass immediately.

If Kvyat had been in that other RBR, Red Bull could have been P3&P4, leaving Ferrari with P5&P6.

Actually, I was more interested if it could be used to favor a teammate.

But if Bottas was benefitting from TC, why would he risk people finding out? Or are you suggesting he mentioned it because he thinks Hamilton has it? Wow, conspiracy hypotheses are great fun, aren't they?
