Ferrari looking good but I believe Merc will find a way to qualify on pole. That belief may be not be logical, but Merc they always seem to find great pace in quali as we have seen in the past 3 race weekends.

The W12 seems to be horrible over the bumps just like her predecessors

Rosberg on F1tv, according to Nico the Mercs have a heating problem with the tires.

Great job from Sainz! First time here in a Ferrari and better than Leclerc.

Meh, everyone does, it's just the nature of the track and these very hard tyres even in their softest trim. No one did their best lap on first run, it took them 3 or even 4 fast laps.

I really hope Ferrari are up there come actual qualifying. It's about time we had an interesting race with multiple teams fighting for the top.

My gut instinct is we will see a big name in the wall today. Maybe Hamilton is due a lapse of concentration.

It’s possible, but at the risk of eating my words, I think he knows the value of 12 points or so rather than none. I can’t see him going do or die in qualifying. Best to accept you’re not on the best horse and bring it home respectably in the best place you can, just like Leclerc has been doing in recent races.

I hope not to see either of the Ferraris push too hard searching for pole.

What I do think is that there might be a few big casualties in q1 or 2 with traffic, cars on track and the high risk of flags.

Ferrari front row lockout would be the best outcome for an exciting race tomorrow if a Merc or RB get pole then it will be the usual Monaco snoozefest.

So far this year after seeing the lap times from practice sessions I have thought Mercedes will struggle to get pole position, and 3 out 4 times I've been wrong. But this time it really looks like it will be a battle between Red Bull and Ferrari for pole, I expect Mercedes to improve but I can't see them getting pole this year.

What do you expect would happen differently other than a snoozefest, if Ferrari locks out front row?
