Is that stay in compression or tension? Which way would the floor flex? Or is it to stop 'flapping'?

With the stay I would say the stiffness of the system (floor) is increased, thus reducing the flexing amplitude and increasing the (mechanical) resonance frequency.

It's a shitbox! Raft of updates: still bouncing on a smooth surface and almost a sec down (as we speak)

And again an underwhelming update so far (hope the times prove me wrong), it looks like they aren't even trying to bring performance to the car. All these tiny bits, this car needs some drastic updates (starting with a complete suspension overhaul)!

Considering the amount of updates they have bought I don’t think anyone could ever possibly deliver anything to your expectations

Read: a new suspension would do nicely!
RBR is clearly in front, why, best suspension. Merc cannot get the car to work, why, they need active suspension. SO, build a new suspension, that should be the focus!

It's crappy aero envelope that's what. The crappier the aero the more complicated suspension you need to keep things steady.

So that gives room for improvement (updates)
