My theory of what's happening here:


The "icecream sandwich" floor strake arrangement is being used to create a powerful vortex which then flows down towards the floor edge and enters the floor tunnels at the wing/inlet area.

I think the double "Bargeboard" configuration is there to ensure that the tire wake is handled even on full steering lock.

Yes, to me there are basically three parts (besides the front wing as everyone) that generate classical vortices: The double barge, the small wing on the Halo and the bigger wing on the halo going to the inside.
I see no different reason for these parts than generating these vortices, especially for the halo wings.

This will be a point of discussion, I wonder if FIA bans them directly or after this season. Nice hole in the rules.
