Being on the inside also has its risk. I foresee a Red Bull getting pushed out by a Merc, probably an overzealous Russell.

T1 will be interesting now with the gravel… How many cars will end up “beached” after the start?

They’ll all try to stay on the track instead of using the run off to gain an advantage.
La Source is an overtaking opportunity. Will we see some circumspection from drivers as the risk of being "invited" to drive in to the gravel on exit risks a race-ending outcome.

It'll be interesting to see if:
a - there are fewer attempts, and/or
b - we see drivers penalised for forcing another in to the gravel.

Dominicali about Spa and the calender on Autosport:

“Of course, we're talking about a business where investment, the financial contribution, is very important, but we have always said that the traditional races, the races that we know they cannot bring the money that the others are bringing, have a full respect from us.

“So you will see that this will be respected also, not only this year, but also in the future. With Belgium, discussions are still on.”
In other words, Spa is likely to be dropped once Liberty gets a better offer from somewhere else. He's saying nice things about respecting the traditional tracks, but the reality is that F1 is merely an investment vehicle and the investor wants as much money as possible.

If you're on the inside, how does someone push you out?

And with Ferrari and Red Bull likely to be ahead of Mercedes, any coming together is likely to be between their drivers, surely. Or is this just your usual "Merc-hate"?

Same as every other time.

“He turned in on me man”

Russel at Austria on Perez to name one example. Or France.

Do you work for Mercedes? Whenever someone says something about Mercedes that you don't like,
you react hypersensitively and as if stung by a wasp. Over and over again. You are the onlyone who does that.

Well, Austria was contact as Perez thought he'd drive around Russell who had made the apex and was entitled to room. The penalty was the result of the stupid "punish the outcome" that we now have to suffer.

Likewise you (and several others) regarding Red Bull, to be honest.

And my question was entirely reasonable - why suggest Mercedes rather than Ferrari who are likely (on form this season) to be the ones at the front with Red Bull? This sort of thing is just as likely and it could be anyone in Max's place there:

It was the whole reacting with hypersensitivity thing that I was referring to.

Friday morning. They wheel the cars out for scrutineering throughout Thursday and we often see some new stuff but nothing confirmed until following 9am with the sheets

Another day to wait then. Been pretty boring so far with the reported updates with only a couple of rear wings
