Something similar that is worth checking out is the one now being rebuilt by Wesley Kagan; V1.0 was based around a Porsche Boxster (following the build will give you some insight into his methodology. V2.0 is going to be bigger & badder (and still very sixties), with a (very compact looking) V12 of some kind ready to go in.
