Max loves to do simracing; next weekend The 24h of LeMans with Team Redline. He also prepares the F1 races at home.

.
Leading up to the 24 Hours of #LeMansVirtual, Verstappen.com has teamed up with Team Redline to talk about sim racing,
Max Verstappen, Formula 1 and much more in an exclusive and candid conversation with Team Redline’s general manager Atze Kerkhof.
How did this race go?

Also for the first post, the championships are not listed.

Wasn’t that race where people got disconnected out if nowhere. I think he quitted the race because of that

Yeah, mass disconnections from the race.

Just sounded like a pathetic attempt at insulting someone to be fair.
Guess you need to have some friends to play with online sim racing…

Team Redline made the decision to quit the race.

If 4 cars dropped out at the same time, they got back the lost laps. That happend several times.
Redline didn't get back the lost laps because only 2 cars dropped out at the same time.
They were way up front and on course to win, but they could never close that 2 laps behind, through no fault of their own.

Apparently sim racing is vulnerable to drop outs. If the leading cars are because of that in a situation without opportunity to come back, than the whole concept is at stake.

It obviously is. But doesn't help Virtual 24h LM had the same issues for 4 years in a row due to playing on RF2 (due to the company who runs RF2 paying large sums to secure exclusive rights). If they were able to use iRacing there would be far less of an issue. It makes it frustrating because there's an obvious solution

we hear at least three teams, Red Bull, AlphaTauri and Alfa Romeo (Sauber), will launch this year without cars on stage. Indeed, the energy drink brand-owned teams will fly to New York to talk about 2023 - without cars!
Apparently they will launch the car without showing us.. a car  typical
Realistically, I imagine we will see something virtual: perhaps on-stage they'll show a video on big screens with the livery on an Rb18/show-car

Additionally:
Talking Red Bull, we hear that they will not only preview their upcoming season in New York, but also present some 2026-onwards plans. F1’s new engine formula kicks in then and as analysed here, Ford is a prime candidate to ‘rebadge’ Red Bull’s in-house engines with the Blue Oval. Given the venue, could Red Bull and Ford be announcing a future deal, thus stealing some of the Andretti-Cadillac thunder?
Interesting speculation

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Have they actually signed up? Last I heard they had been banned from the meetings due to not signing up.

What would it have depended on? Not partnering with Honda again?

I can't say I understand the purpose the additive manufacturing note. I wasn't aware that this was under consideration to be banned.
