Horner implied in his interview with AMuS that the numbers coming out of Aston Martin are large. Not sure whether that's investment into the sport (eg new factory) or in reference to wind tunnel numbers for the new car. Maybe AMR are cooking something tasty for 2023

I feel this is the same for most teams. Early part of 2022 they are already thinking about the next car, even more-so if they get it as wrong as AMR did in '22. And Aston Martin were still bringing parts until Hungary in '22 so it's not a very unusual plan

Doubt AM are strong. Vettel wouldn’t have jumped, if there was the slightest inclination that the car would be competitive. Simple as.

The new personel, bar Fallows, have only been there 5 mins. It’s the usual hype job pre season, and saying they’ve been focusing on this since last season. It guarantees nothing. They’ve always targeted 2026, and nothing suggest the team will be anywhere near the top 3 before then.

But fallows has all the Redbull knowledge
When they made the RB18 he already knew what the development direction will be for the RB19 because that’s discussed early

I made some comment about potential AM-Honda tie up for 26 in AM2022 thread, since then there is news by The-Race about McClaren-Honda reunoin. For AM to be champion they need works engine deal , so what if they start building their own engine like Redbull with funding from Aramco and badge their engine with 'Aramco powertrain' branding. Lawrence Stroll saw that the silverstone team need better facilities so he invested in new factory now next logical step is getting their own engine, also AM have road car company which stands to benefit from such investment in engine facilities. What do you guys think?.

Alonso is now saying this as value insurance in the event he gets beaten by Stroll. It's more acceptable if Stroll was a diamond in the rough, a top talent, that no one realized.

The guy who put it on front row at Canada last season in an alpine is worried about being beaten by stroll? it's just typical Alonso mind games

The actual interest in the stroll vs Alonso duel is not who wins but how vettel will emerge from it: if Alonso decimates stroll then vettel's twilight years look resoundingly unimpressive (even more than they do already, as much as I like him)
