Alpine A523

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The tea tray structure is thinner (blue), & so is the '23 bib leaf spring (red).
The radiator duct has a more complex shape, less rectangular in front view, and concave, not flat in side view, & maybe it goes further rearwards.

Edit...I can't obviously distinguish the 2022 car from the 2023...

The new centerline cooling system, the less protruding anti-roll tubes, the different engine exhaust manifolds, the (flattened and partly 3d printed)? turbine pipe

Different intercooler-to-engine pipes too

Has anyone been able to spot the visual change that Harman forecasted?

Surely it's not the livery :wtf:

There was a post on Alpine's twitter today highlighting a tribute message to the passing of a team member on their rear wing endplate.

I noticed something I had not seen on the car before.

A winglet on the outer sidewall of the diffuser
Is the diffuser winglet new?

It's just one of those standard 'r' shaped wings that are attached to the rear wheels IMO. It seems to be part of the diffuser but it's just an illusion

Regarding today's 'updates' there are no visible changes yet, AFAIK. In the mean time, Gasly apparently said "we only brought minor updates", whereas Ocon said: "We have brought some good step ups and are now in race weekend mode. We've tested some solutions that were harsh for us and the car. Some areas that weren't optimized have now been optimized".

They rarely put the new parts in the scuteneering day, anyways, so one should wait for FP...
