Anyone here done an AutoCAD course they’d recommend?

Post

Hi all,

So I’ve been thinking about finally getting serious with AutoCAD. I’ve tinkered with it here and there for little projects, but I really want to build a solid foundation — and ideally be able to use it more professionally in the future.

There are so many courses out there, I’m getting a bit lost… Some are free, some cost a fortune, and honestly, I can’t always tell which ones are actually worth it. I’d love to hear from anyone here who’s followed a course and felt it actually helped them — not just theory, but really understanding how to use the tools in real-world situations.

If you’ve done a course that really clicked with you — whether it was online, in person, video-based, whatever — I’d be super grateful to hear about it. Did it start from scratch? Was it hands-on? Did it go into 3D too, or mainly stick to 2D?

Thanks so much in advance. I’m motivated, just need a bit of guidance on where to dive in. :)

I am pretty good at CAD if i do say so myself... have never done a course on AutoCAD. I just use it frequently for work and for client projects hobbies etc.

AutoCAD is strongest in 2D. I can do 3D in it but never went back after I learned Solidworks.

Most of the mastery in AutoCAD is not really the individual operations but learning how to produce a professional looking drawing.

In my opinion. The best course is self taught backed by the need, motivation or driving force to use CAD regularly. If you don't have a strong need to use CAD regularly then yeah ypu might need a course, but what you learnt will fade away real quick.

There has been a few youtube ones I have saved for some students...

Joe Robinson training
CAD CAM tutorials
