instant gear shift

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

I did a presentation on seamless shift gearboxs recently, however the amount of information on arrangements and systems used in Formula 1 seems to be pretty scarce. However if you google Zeroshift you can find a system currently under development for high performance road cars. It's essntially a mechanical system and I imagine it wouldn't be too dissimilar to something being developed in F1, as the 'seamless' part of the gear change would still have to be carried out using some sort of mechanical arrangement.

I found in net one nice article about seamless gearshift (Zeroshift). Probably one for F1 car is more sophisticated, but principles of work is there. Two years ago, when BAR try to use it, I so one article about this, and this one was very similar to this one on page I give you a link. first is the link to this site, and second is a link to a PDF file free to download
