F1 V8 engines

Post

Hello, I'm new at the forum, and I'm doing an engine in a cad program for a subject at my degree on mechanical engineer.
I decided to do a v8 engine and I tought you could know the dimensions of some parts,.
I've done some research about it and I find that the pistons diameter is about 98mm, the space between cylinders is about 106.5mm, and I don't know who are the size of the connecting rods, the lenght of them?
If you can tell me some sites about information of the f1 v8 engines, please post it.
Thank you

Best Regards

First of all, Welcome! :D
If you take some time to search in the Engine topics you will find what you need for sure!
Remember that you can also use info of the connecting rods and possibly valvetrain of the V10 engines, that where basically the same to nowdays V8s with additional 2 cylinders.

tgamarques,

Take a look at the tech reg's for F1 on the FIA's website:

http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.ns ... penelement

Many engine dimensions, such as bore diameter, bore centers, engine CofG location, etc. are now regulated.

And what CAD system are you working with? Be sure to post some renderings when you are finished.

Best of luck with your project!
