Quali Format now Super Aguri Have Withdrawn

Post

Whats the quali format going to be now Super Aguri have oficially withdrawn from the 2008 season???

Will it be:

Q1: 5 Eliminated (20-16)
Q2: 5 Eliminated (15-11)
Q3: Top 10 Shootout

Or will they still keep it the same, but make the top 10 shootout a top 8???

Can anyone answer that one???

I've not though of this question, hmm, I think that they'll eliminate 5 in Q1 and Q2 and keep the top 10 shoot-out. A top 8 shot-out would be rather interesting though.

I doubt that even the FIA have thought of this.

They will probably make up the answer at the END of Q1.

They may even do it like this:

Q1: Eliminate bottom 4
Q2: Eliminate 6
Q3: Top 10 shootout.

Well, the sporting regulations state that in the case of 24 cars the system is 7-7 and with 22 cars 6-6, so it's natural to assume that with 20 cars it will be 5-5. Then again, since nothing is written down anything is possible.

i think the theory is the other way round

they want a top ten shoot out so the rest are eliminated
to suit in 2 runs so 5 / 5 / 10
..?

I'm sure it'll be a top 10 shootout. The 11th qualifier already has an advantage over 9th and 10th. To make Q3 top 8 only would give #9 too much of an advantage.
