im actually quite disappointed on how Honda is handling this.
letting Rubens going to Brazil without knowing whether its his last grand prix or not is just unacceptable.
and i don't think neither of those rookies are ready for F1.
Like Jenson said, we need an experienced driver to develop the car.
but they should sign Senna and have him learn under Rubans next year... Di Grassi doesnt seem as fast.... GP2 is just not a good enough measure, not with all the inverted grid BS.
He is still fast and he has so much experience. Heck, he has been driving F1 cars on slicks! Surely the guy is a better choice than his fellow countrymen. Go Rubens!
I'd say go crazy with new drivers. In fact get rid of Button all together. Honda has had many years of failure. Sorry fans of honda and Button, that is the fact.
They have got nothing to loose. What Button and Ruben both lack is the right attitude. Sure both of them have talents and skills, but both of them also lack aggression and hunger to win. As a result, they depend so much on the car to perform well and go fast with it.
The young talents who are here to proof something will push themselves to the limit and work really hard. They will be the ones bringing new life to this team.
You've been loosing with the same old strategy anyway, why not take a risk and try something new. Isn't that the moto of Honda?
i've just voted for Senna not because of Aryton Senna, but I think he has talent. I could wrong on all of these but I probably would make this crazy decision of I led Honda team.
I'm sure Brawn will make a considered decision in the end. I don't see a big difference between Rubens and Button in terms of performance over the last three years. In fact if they have proved anything then it is the ability of F1 drivers to drive a real bad car for too much money. So the situation between them is quite inconclusive.
Several team principals have publicly come out with the opinion that this years crop of GP2 drivers seeking F1 seats isn't particularly exciting. None of them has been compelling in the way he compares to his rivals. If Senna was F1 material Berger would have snapped him up immediately. I don't know about Di Grassi.
I'm sure there will not be much milage in it for Honda however he decides in the end. He may well wait for an American Driver and keep Rubens.

I can't see why they need to spend so much money on 2 established and experienced drivers if they don't get their car right first. I mean, haven't they learned anything from the BAR/Villeneuve experiment, or Toyota/Ralf? No disrespect for the drivers (I rate JV especially very highly), but why spend half your budget on the driver if he's gonna be driving a shopping trolley? They could get away with it with just Button OR Rubens and ANYONE else at this stage. Davidson? Sato? Liuzzi? A young gun? All sounds good. Oh, and why not get Jos Verstappen as a test/setup driver? I bet he must be much cheaper to employ now, and money well spent! Unless if keeping Rubens is indeed cheap at the moment..

The problem is that Brawn isnt the one making the decision, Fry is. At least thats how it seems. Brawn has already vted for Rubans but Fry is looking at other things like sponsorship... Honda has the least from any team on the grid so it seems.

Verstappen wasn't he in F1 before Schumi? let those old guys enjoy their retirement!!

I second anyone who believes Rubens>Button and let Senna partner him through winter testing to see how close he gets. If not within a few tenths let Button race, but if so let Senna race. I honestly believe that Rubens has done a far better job than Button these last two years.
What 2007? Where he scored 0 points?
Rubens beat JB fair and square this year, fact.
2006 and 2007 were owned by Jenson. JB still has alot more to offer to F1 at only 28.
Thing with Jenson is he's either matched with Rubens or just blindingly super quick and way ahead of Rubens. When Rubens is quicker than JB often it is only by fractions.
Rubens is much more experienced and that counts now! If not... I would say Senna...
"Racing, competing, it's in my blood. It's part of me, it's part of my life; I have been doing it all my life and it stands out above everything else." - Ayrton Senna
Button is demoralised and I don't blame him. He got out driven at times because A) the car suited Rubens more and B) cause Rubens was trying to proove something.
I wouldn't judge Button atm, but if he gets a good competative car next year and doesn't step it up then I would say it's time for him to step aside.
I think Senna and Di Grassi should stick to GP2 and that Senna should be the new test driver, if that honour doesn't go to Davidson or Sato (should Seb Bourdais beat Sato to the STR seat personally I would have Sato and Seb Bourdais but it seems like STR are only driven by money...)
Actually thinking about it...if Bourdais is free I'd take him if I was Honda over the other 3...and why is Sato not trying to get his Honda drive back if they are testing Senna and Di Grassi?

Well, I thought if they need to have an experienced driver (more than Button that is) why not someone who has much experience on slicks and should be quite affordable (more than Rubens that is)? Just kidding, never mind what I say...
