A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

:D if you're going quicker round a corner - more air in the brake ducts!

Suzuka - new brake duct with winglet

It is not just for brakes cooling, it serves as an aero-device now too. This wing with two vertical endplates increases downforce at front.

FW31 End of Season report:

Should have done better. Created too much drag. Hampered by Toyota young driver program.

With the Toyota engine deal finished, there will be less technical co-operation between Toyota and Williams. Expect to see the cars from both teams have more differing designs next year.

Seconded. With the fact they should have had at least 1 or 2 floor and DDD revisions as well as a major mid season aero upgrade that most teams had either introduced at one race or stages over 3 or 4 slowly coming together.

I also agree with that. Could've done with Kobayashi instead of Nakajima  on the Toyota development programme

What could be the reason(s) for not introducing enough significant upgrades? Financial ? Or just lack of will power/proactivenes?
