one make KERS, how to improve road car technology?

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

It's not all about the money. They want to save money, but the FIA also want to be seen as embracing "green" technologies and "road-car-relevant" technologies.

Yeah but 1 make KERS will not improve the technology... So its useless

I personally think they should all be set loose on the KERS, increase the power to 160bhp for 12 seconds. Really give the engineers something to think about! Then enable other teams to purchase the big players KERS units. But of course until we're out this recession its a no no.

there are too mush style of KERS are waiting for develop, 1 make KERS is only a image, not useful.

how the hydraulic pressure & Flybrid come if FIA & FOTA do that??

my dream race is all car use one make engine, but no limited on any ER-System. Who can get back more power one the same engine, he will be the winner

Scania,

Have you not seen your own namesake's Energy Recovery System?

This must be of some interest to the engineers. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... conds.html

The image is from Swedish Truck, Bus and Engine manufacturer Scania, displaying an innovative way of recovering exhausts on a diesel engine. Consult the web for more.

You said it yourself... this is what SOME of FOTA is thinking, many of the teams consider KERS as a push to pass technology(as if the throttle isn't) and not as something novel to improving road car technology. They have moved from the mindset of innovation towards that of gradual improvements. They would rather spend thousands on ultra light wheel nuts than millions on KERS.

I doubt Max will allow spec KERS, but he may allow standard KERS, but ultimately it looks like its all in FOTA's hands. Even the biggest proponent of KERS, BMW, are willing to have spec KERS as long as they can supply the grid.... cha ching! they would be getting paid to do R&D that they consider useful towards their road car program. But of course we the fans lose out.

That's the exhaust system that uses a secondary turbo to feed back recovered energy directly to the crankshaft. It's good for about a 7 to 10% energy savings.

but... is the exhaust gas power really enough to push the crankshaft?

From the pic they seem to use it after a turbo(which is the best use of exhaust energy thus far). It might only be fractional but every little bit helps right. Probly works best on long hauls, highway driving.
