Glad that he survived with relatively minor (for such a fall) injuries.

I bet he never drives a racing car again...

Not nice, especially at his age. Such a gentleman and a real racer, a real credit to F1. Get well soon Mr Moss =D>

Vertebrae, even when you are young, are very hard to recover from. A friend cracked three, and had to do physio for many years, and now boxes just to keep his back extra strong.

I can't believe he drove those insane dangerous cars with no seatbelt, and this got him.

That really sounds like rotten luck. I wish the good man a complete recovery and all the best.

I hope Fangio when he drives the Maserati 250f in Bahrain does a subtle tribute to him. I would imagine he would.

Sad news. Hope he gets well and sues company that made and/or maintains those elevators. It could have been the child, that was the first thing that crossed my mind when I read it.

It seams to me that the wealthy people get injured and die more frequently these days than people who are poor. For example; Colin McRae died in private helicopter crash, Edouard Michelin died in yachting/diving accident, Ove Andersson died in classic car race. Seams as if they did not have money to afford those things/activities, they'd be among us now. I know that poverty is no good but it seams that richness as an opposite extreme isn't either. Guess the best is somewhere in between.

I know I've turned this to a bit of philosophical analysis, don't get me wrong, it just made me wonder.

Yes, I know full well how old he is :)

Moss still does (or rather 'did' now ) demo runs of old race cars (AM DBR1, Maserati 250F etc). I would think this accident will end that. Which will be very sad for all true race fans / petrolheads...

However, we can hope... [-o<

Edit: Just noticed that Moss recently competed in his OSCA car. See http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/ ... s-an-osca/
I didn't know he still actually raced properly

Yes, some months ago I had the privilege to watch him race in it (at the Boavista circuit) and he still had speed and balls, I can assure you.
