The ECU is to FiA spec, designed and manufactured By McLaren electronics and branded Microsoft. Data aquisition systems are mainly supplied by the engine suppliers for customer teams and proprietary to top teams. Camera systems are done by FOM/FOA and marhalling systems by FiA. Teams use propriatory sensors and steering wheels with their aquisition systems and have private maps and profiles in the ECU. Harnesses are often supplied by specialised UK companies.

The FIA standard engine control unit, SECU, called TAG-310B is made by McLaren Electronic Systems. It is not branded Microsoft as claimed above. What Microsoft supplies is a software package that includes SQL Server which is used for data logging.
