F1 online, TVU channel?

Post

What channel would I be able to watch the F1 race this weekend on the TVU player?

I think Speed blocked TVU last year. I don't know where to watch the races online anymore. Having Speed at home with a big screen and yet I go to the bar at 8am in Manhattan to watch with a bunch of other F1 fans.

i was successful using a proxy paid service and the bbc site, worked better than expected to be honest. TVU and justin.tv or similar sites are just too unreliable in my experience from last season, FOM are onto them.

What proxy service? If you can PM me that would be great. I don't paying a couple few bucks to be able to get all the viewing.

I think the proxy service is used to fake your IP address, so the BBC server will think you're in the UK (they don't "broadcast" outside UK). Any proxy service will do.

Justin TV works fine, but you have to arrive early (there is a limited number of slots to watch the race). If you get disconnected, then you're out, as there are no unused slots, I guess that's the reason why Mystic F1 finds it unreliable.

I use JustinTV to watch racing tests, which are not shown by my cable operator (it only shows qualies and races).

A proxy service is legal though. It's just a tunnel. It's just as if I was dialing in to a UK ISP. The last few times I have tried to watch on Justin, all was well, and then it got cut. I'm just sick of having to troll my line there, and read all the comments from idiots and chase down links which usually end up in spam pages, or I get stuck watching it in Spanish.

Nothing wrong with Spanish, I just don't speak it.

The other option is to wait a few hours, and dl fro ru which I did this time. I have Bell Sattellite with 1.5 million channels, even some from mars, and I can not get a feed for one of the most popular racing series on the planet.

Too bad I am above planet USA which likes NASCAR too much. SpeedTV is a big failure for F1.

It depends. Usually you can find several channels broadcasting the race at the sports section.

I love the brazilian commentators, those guys know. As I speak spanish, I can also speak portuguese, but in moments of desperation I've watched polish transmissions, even japanese ones.

I think the comments are very funny altough sometimes are written in martian (Giblet will feel at home there. BTW, Gib, OF COURSE there is nothing wrong with spanish, but definitely there is SOMETHING wrong with english... ;)).

Just check them, browse the sport section: they ALWAYS have a channel running the "Legends of F1" program (or it seems so).

If you follow this advice (warning: don't follow any of my advices, not even this one!) and you like this "Legends" program, I only ask humbly NOT to watch the Jerez 97 or 94 races. Or, better yet, if you watch them DO NOT COMMENT THEM HERE: rest assured, I will kill you if you do (virtually, of course). :D

The problem i had with justin.tv last season was FOM shutting down channels due to rights violation, it got very annoying.

Thanks a lot for the help.

I'll probably try and see if the race is on justin tv, and if not just listen to it on BBC 5 with Jack Villeneuve while watching the live timing on the F1 website, unless I get a proxy before then.

I'll also try to stay away from the Jerez races, but you really make me want to watch them just to find out why I need the words of caution.

For FP3 in Bahrain, i stumbled upon an online stream, German i think, which had no commentary at all!

Purely just sound & vision of the cars!

Looks interesting, id also be interested to know if anyone has used it before...the testimonials smell like marketing rubbish tho.

I found a pay proxy that worked a treat if you're interested Tazio just shoot me a pm. They even have a 3day trial which i used for Bahrain, was planning on subscribing again after Melbourne.
