Worst timing ever during a live feed

Post

Hello Lg. What was that? During the qualifying I had absolutley no idea who was on which position. I knew that Vettel was on pole when the Red Bull crew was cheering. How will it be in the race? Must I carry my PC in the living room only to have an overview about whats happening? Why can`t you overlay the current standings in the left part of the screen as it was in recent years. And the design ist not very good, too.
The s(h)ame rubbish as in WTCC.

Yeah, I had to use the Live Timing on F1.com to see what was going on.

And the worst of it is the Live Timing doesn't work on Windows 7 for some reason (my friends can't get it to work).

The F1 website live timing seemed to be faster than the BBC television pictures : I knew Vettel was on pole before I saw him cross the line!

That is the first time that has ever happened & I've been using the service for years ...

That has happened in every single session I've ever used the Live Timing for (and that's over 5-6 years).

For me, it is usually a second or two behind the TV during quali and it ends up suffering significant lag by the end of a race ...

Can anyone confirm this? I was watching through BBC online on my laptop running Windows 7. If this is the case, I'll use a different computer tomorrow.

And yes, not having the standings at the left of the tv feed was really pretty annoying.

Live timing from the official site were good and faster than the Speed TV feed here in the States. But since installing Win7 it hasn't worked. Granted, it's been only the practices yesterday and then the events today, but I hope Bernie gets on this really fast. I need my live timing.
For the race itself I don't care about live timing as i'm usually in a bar with no laptop around.

+1 Always been that way. Poor service during practice for me. Crashed with about 30 mins left.

The win7 guys should update their Java virtual machine. To 1.6.0.18 or something like that.
EDIT: Oh, and yes, the onscreen info was massive suckage. Can't they learn from the MotoGP guys? Or, god forbid, NASCAR.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Thanks for that - downloading the latest Java Virtual Machine is what is needed to get the timing page to work with Windows 7!

2 minutes to the off now!

Formatting on the live timing page is crap though - has nobody told them that there are 24 drivers?

Sector times are out of synch. It works in large mode but nothing else.

edit: or not.

They have clearly changed something with the live timings for this season (maybe having something to do with the death of the standard-shredding IE6) : I have never had any major problems with live timing using Firefox on Ubuntu Linux before, but it has been displaying like this for the entire race :

It hasn't made the timings unreadable, but it has been REALLY annoying ...
