Portugal should host F1 GP

Post

Portimao race track in Portugal is an excellent race track for F1 GP.
This track is new and better than the current Cataluna and Valencia race tracks.

Portugal deserves to host a F1 GP. They should host the race in 2012 or 2013.

Absolutely

As half portuguese, I would love to see a race at Portimao. Forget that its 25 mins from my grandmothers farm(goats :D ) This track has some real character dialled in.
There are a series of "blind" corners, and indeed some where you see just sky, such is the elevation!
While I would also like to see what Korea has to offer, I'm half hoping in they defer to next year so we could be treated to Portimao. Spa it is not, but it is twice Valencia and Jerez.

In short, it would be a brilliant F1 venue in what is a beautiful part of the world.

Portimão is a great track, but I guess that since the last Portuguese GP, F1 became too expensive for countries not living in a bath of oil or gold, so leave it away!

AIA is probably the best newly built circuit. However the reasons for certain things to be in F1 these days have nothing to do with being the best, or even remotely good.

I went there last year just to have a look around, my parents have a place nearby, and I must say what a fantastic venue, possibly one of the hottest places on the planet but just superb facilities and really the sort of thing the Algarve needs.

It was a really good call whoever decided to set it up. I just hope they can get enough people through the turnstiles to keep it going, I'm given the impression they don't hold many events there.
