Hamilton vs Kimi at Spa

Post

I assume everyone remembers this yes? How Hamilton gave the place back but slipped into the slipstream then overtook at the next corner?

Check this out, does anyone remember him getting a penalty? Because I don't. I don't want to moan about it all, it's just an example that at the time, I thought should have been used. I'm also bored, so thought I would post this!

Is it too hard to do a research?

PS, BTW, does it really deserve its own thread?

Ah yes.. The Spa win that was stolen from Hamilton. He really showed up Kimi in that race.

yeah, not until the last 3 laps when there was rain, till then Kimi owned him!
The mclaren was Superior in rain and changing condition (even upto 4 sec faster at times) on other races aswell from 2007 to 2008 (Nurburgring 2007/Monza 2008/Fuji 2007 springs to mind) and i remember ferrari sprayed water on to the track at Mugello and tested simply to catch up with Mclaren.

Oooooooooooh don't bring this up again.
This will lead to fanboy war right away.
BTW. I think he got a punishment. His victory was taken away.
In the end it didn't help Kimi because he lost controll of his car trying to take back position.
Topic should be closed in my opinion.

Yeah Kimi was owning him until the rain equalized the cars. Then the driver mattered more. 8)

Oh, yeah, except in Brazil when "rain equalized the cars" his sorry a** was pwned by whoever wanted this.

Grain of salt man, grain of salt.

WhyTF am I posting this?

I assume it needs to be put away because people can't be civilised and talk about it like men?

Thanks for the link there Timbo, made for interesting reading. They make a very valid point that the stewards changed their mind and didn't give him a penalty. I don't think the drivers were acting as part of the stewards back then were they?

It certainly is! Does anyone else know if situations like this? Where with two very similar situations there have been completely different results/punishments?

Did he? As I recall Hamilton didn't have much of a chance until the rain came.

Or do we congratulate McLaren for producing a car with very good mechanical grip.....?

What? They did. It was for gaining an advantage when rejoining the track. That's a violation of chapter 4c. Thus a 20s penalty. Kimi crashed out and Massa won the race.

@ n smikle
congrats on successful trolling.

Also this topic should be merged with the thread of the respectful Grand Prix.

It helps to read all the posts and follow the links on the way dude, I wasn't talking about that race but about the Alonso/Klien incident XD

SiLo - Here's a hint - when you have only just started and are replying to a chap with 1001 posts, then the chances are that you don't need to tell the other guy how to read a thread.

I would also add that it "helps to read all the posts and follow the links on the way dude". Every one talks about Hamilton and Kimi. No mention of Alonso or Klien. Not one.

Heh Panda - 1001 posts , nice number! Much more attractive than 1000!
