WDC Tie Breaker

Post

If Webber wins in Abu Dabi and Alonso is second they will be tied on points. They will each have 5 wins... What is the next tie breaker? Second place finishes?

Seconds, whitch WEB has 4 to ALOs 3 then.

If they were tied on finishes, and the likes it would then go to poles and fastest laps, then if there wasnt a diffrerencating factor, it would go down to driver fines then... Eventually something would be found.

one flaw in your plan, they won't be tied in points. Alonso has a 8 point lead.

Alonso finishes 1st or 2nd, it doesn't matter what MW does.

They won't be tied in points if that happens...

If Vettel wins at Abu Dhabi, Webber comes in second, Hamilton third and Alonso finshes fourth... ahmm :wtf:.

Vettel 256, 5 wins, 9 poles - winner by poles tally (getting pole at Abu Dhabi is moot but would total 10 if achieved)
Webber 256, 4 wins, 5 poles - eliminated by wins tally
Hamilton 237, 3 wins, 1 pole
Alonso 256, 5 wins, 2 poles - eliminated by poles tally
Button, 2 wins

But I'll just reserve my predictions 'til the final corner of lap 55 at Abu Dahbi.

once again, Alonso wins since 4th is worth 12 points and he would be 258.

Slightly incorrect. Alonso should finish 5th in this scenario. And Vettel would come up first. Alonso and Vettel would have 5 wins 2 2nds 3 3rds, if my maths is right. Then it falls down to 4ths. Which Vettel has 1 more of.

It appears that even if I wait until the final corner of the last lap to declare who I thought was the winner... chances are... I'd still be wrong. 'Scuse me, I got some bets to retract.
