How many races to become WDC ?

vettel becoming the youngest WDC made me think , what is the smallest number of grand prix drives after which someone has won this championship

jimmy clark , easily the most dominant F1 driver ever percentage wise , finally got a car that didn't break down and won the WDC in his 3rd season after 33 races [ at seasons end ...he had won before that though if I remember correctly ]

I have tried googling for anyone who won in less races ...does anyone know if there is somebody ?

incidentally clark was older than vettel is now before he ever sat in a F1 car

Without having researched it any way, my answer would be Nino Farina. He was F1 World Champion after 6 races (official, there might have been some unofficial)
Edit: Argh, Grand Prix drives, don't know about that

sorry , my fault ..I suppose I was thinking of the era after it became established , since 1960 perhaps

Hamilton i guess, 17+18 = 35 races?
Clark would be leading then.

Vettel has as much experience as Hamilton, just 9 races less though his age makes it seem otherwise.
