F1 cockpit dimensions

Post

I am looking for what the dimensions are for a typical F1 cockpit are. Im interested in the area starting from the drivers back to where the front nosecone attaches. There are a lot of you on here that have made your own models of F1 cars but i didnt want to hijack your threads.

Im going to attempt to make a cockpit and use it as my racing throne for GT5, F1: 2010, and GTR II. The wife hates the wood thing with the chair that i now use and maybe a well done cockpit would be better.

They're pretty much all documented in the drawings at the end of the technical regulations. http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/f1regs.html
you can often buy an ex-f1 seat off ebay!

I am a little larger than your average F1 driver. A 1.83 meters and 100 kilos, i'm probably the size of 2 Massas. :-) I doubt a used F1 seat would work for me...or my wallet!

Just took a look at those specs and they are pretty simple. Now, just to modify them a bit so i can fit and im off to buy some wood...and red paint.
