Rumours abound that McLaren will be using Honda turbo engines in 2014. Interesting.

That would be cool. The question is: Is Honda ready and consequent enough to develop a new F1 engine. As weve seen, they weren't it in 2003 to 2009...

They will have the advantage of not running a current engine program as the existing manufacturers have to.

????? ALL teams will be using new engines, so all will have to restart from scratch! Honda are just as capable of manfacturing a competitive engine as Mercedes, Ferrari, etc.

I thought that Honda engines were pretty well thought of until the engine freeze. At which point they took the freeze a bit more literal than other engine suppliers and as a result fell behind...

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Without this metamorphosing into a Honda thread, I remember at Suzuka in 2004, the BAR Honda team had the "Suzuka Special" V10 that had around 980 horses.

I am very sure BMW had the most powerful V10 engine, rumored to reach 1000hp at monza.

Apart from that, you are the first to even state Honda had the most powerful V10's

I think Honda had the most powerful V10 back in 1990 ... more recently, I never read a single report that ranked the modern Honda V10 as top of anything (except perhaps weight).

Indeed, and apart from that I remember more Honda blow ups than any other engine on the grid.

Their V8 wasnt very good either
