Vasily Petrov - he was learning circuits, and managed to keep two-time WDC crybaby behind him on a circuit he had never driven! He also had several great races and moves from which anyone can tell future top driver from a future midfielder. If he remains in F1, in 2 or 3 years he will be one of the top drivers.

P.S. Voted for Rosberg since Petrov is not on the list. Why? He won twice more points than 7 time "best ever" wannabee title contender.

Hamilton - he beat the then-current world champion in an identical car. And he made Button look ordinary much too often for Button's good really.

I'd have said Rosberg too because he's made Schuie look very ordinary too. But then Schuie was always going to struggle on the level playing field that is modern F1. The lack of testing was always going to make a comeback troublesome.

Fair play to both Button and Schuie for accepting their respective challenges though - both had much to lose and little to win from their endeavours (although Button's standing would arguably have been improved had he beaten Hamilton this year).

Alonso at Monaco this year was great.

But for the year (drumroll)...

Mark Webber. Not crashing, but... Winning races? I will never tire of this.

Not hard to guess which driver impressed me the most in 2010! Robert Kubica! This sums it up pretty well:

The speed of Ayrton Senna.
The mind of Alain Prost.
The dedication of Michael Schumacher.
The determination of Alex Zanardi.

they all made mistakes...or did not deliver.
who should stand out this year...maybe jaime alguesuari who really improved two notches this year and had the better of Buemi.
Kubica got some races when petrov simply was the quicker driver....and the ones to watch were kobayashi and Glock .

I thought excluding the 3 DNFS of lewis hamiltons, it could be lewis as he would have won the championship with a car which wasnt up to scratch, however robert kubica got podiums where vitaly petrov could not.

Hamilton made too many mistakes to be considered IMO.

If he is on your list you are definately a fan of his  No doubt he had some great performances, but to be rated ahead of Alonso for 2010 is criminal in my view.
And there where a fair few races where the macca was alot quicker than the Ferrari.
Kobayashi, Kubica, Rosberg, Vettel and Webber all had better seasons in terms of personal performance than Lewis. It was not a classic year for him.

Hamilton has rated his own season a mere 6 out of 10. That is hard to argue with.

It's hard to choose only one driver, but it's definitely between Rosberg or Kubica. Eventually I've chosen Rosberg because of his all-round performance and the beating he gave MS.

Considering the cars that they were driving in 2010, they were amazing. They outclassed their teammates and drove very consistent and fast, throughout the entire season. They are the best of the rest, but in comparison with the top-5 drivers, they were so much more reliable.

I did not have to think twice to name Sebastian Vettel. The way this young man overcame the bitter disappointment of loosing three race victories in his grasp to dominate the last five races was magnificent. I also think that he was the driver who was most unfairly criticized by the media this season. I put all the bad luck and the drama behind him, focussed on the job and made his own luck. There is hardly a better story to find.

Rosberg also impressed me but there are probably another eight or ten drivers out there who would have beaten Schumacher in that car.

I have to admit that I didn't follow Kubica so closely but in the past he did not beat Heidfeld decisively to earn much attention and beating the rookie Petrov was simply a necessity for him. Perhaps I overlooked something but I don't remember anything spectacular from the cube. I remember him mainly for hard driving in duels and being involved in some corner disputes with Alonso and Schumacher.

Vettel did a lot to impress this year, but was also full of mistakes in comparison to Rosberg. Other people had better seasons than Vettel, considering how dominant the car was, even keeping in mind the mechanical DNF's, he had a much higher number of incidents that didn't need to happen.

Kubica has impressed Renault as much as Alonso did, but his lack of errors in relation to his speed is why Hamilton considers him the biggest threat.

I found Kobyashi and Rosberg to be the ones punching above their weight and to be mroe impressive. Vettel's WDC was his to lose from the beginning, and almost lost it. Almost losing a near easy title is not as impressive as beating a 7 time WDC so badly.

If Vettel can continue his form from the tail end of 2010 and keep it through 2011 including some actual racecraft, he will get my vote next year.

What I find surprising is that Lewis is leading the pole, even though he found his own performance to by only a "6 out of 10".

Agree 100% regards Kobayashi and Rosberg, they made more inroads with average machinery than others around them.

And although Webber is a good driver, he isnt great. Vettel had his hands full with Webbo all year. And a ridiculous Red Bull pit call made it easier for Vettel right at the death.

well, to me its between hamilton and kubica, however hamilton made many stupid mistakes, and kubica has driven beyond the capability of his car and IMO i think we all accept that kubica is a future world champion in waiting, for overtakes and pure racing - hamilton as he has performed the most overtakes of any driver in 2010, for being an all rounder i would say kubica, however we are forgetting heikki kovalainen who managed 1 x 12 ,2 x 13 places in a lotus, i really cant call it, i was interested to here everyones views on this.

I cannot choose 'other' so i didnt vote.

For me it is Vitali Petrov, he came in F1 where he had shown nothing in lower racing class' and his dad paid 15 million for his racing seat. Over the season he became much more constant and much quicker, making less and less mistakes, at the end of the season he could drive races without any mistakes. He was certainly was not what you'd expect from an paydriver and that in a really positive way
