Zanardi isn't paralised...he was just amputated and now has "titanium legs".

What about Sir Frank Williams? Or does it not count because it was a road accident?

We had a really short thread when Regazzoni died, perhaps you wish to take a look:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3714

Mr. Regazzoni had a racing club for disabled children: Clay Regazzoni Onlus, as I mentioned in that brief thread. Next April 27th they will hold the Gran Premio di Cadilana.

Mike Taylor, at Dream Racers has made robotic race toys for disabled children.

In Tocancipá, Colombia, we have one day devoted to disabled children. I've went there with my brother, who is disabled.

Carol Hollfelder (I've crossed some e-mails with her) and Lance Magin are proffessional racers and paraplegic. Here is what I found when I googled for him: http://www.dsusa.org/ChallMagarchive/Fa ... icles.html Magin was the first paraplegic to be licensed by NASCAR.

Daniel Reyes is the US representative of Guido Simplex, the factory that built Zanardi's equipment for racing. He owns RediAuto Sport, and probably know his share of disabled racers.

Carolynn Hoy, a british woman I met once briefly, has a project for Disabled Kart Racers, I couldn't find it.

Very interesting Carlos! Thanks!

Its a nice idea to adopt, since there are other sports where "Otherabled" (I don´t like the word disabled because to me it sounds like unabled) people can compete, like football, basketball, but never seen on motor-racing, except the cases of drivers wich suffered accidents, like Naninni, Zanardi or the Argentinian Adrian Hang.

Wasnt there a motogp racer who crashed at suzuka in 2000 when he bumped over the kerbstones? The crash itself wasnt worse, but he cant use his legs anymore becasue he hit the kerbstone.
