I'm looking for the correct sizes of the various sectors ( 1, 2 and 3 ) of all the F1 circuits.
Can someone help me with this? Because I can't find it anywhere.
It's easy to get the full track length, but I can't find the sizes of the individual sectors.
What do you mean unsatisfying? Do you have any idea where the traps are located?
I assure you I can give you way less than 1% error in length, using Google Earth, if you can point the exact sites to me. The trick is that you have to use a GIS to transform the track to plane coordinates, but I would do it happily.
Question. How do you measure sector lengths? I mean, is it the shortest possible line? Probably meaning a straightline from apex to apex. Or is it the racing line? If so, which line do they take, especially at multiple-line corners? Is it a line straight down the middle of the track?
The circuit length given in the drawings is the "Centerline circuit length".
One could do a centerline circuit length in google earth. Find the error.
If 1m in google earth == 1.1m to the F1, then sector 1, 150m before turn6. 1.1x150=165m you go to google earth measure 165m before turn 6 and you put a marker for sector 1.
The problem is, I still don't know where turn 6 starts..(or any turn, really)
EDIT:
Most common measurements of track distance are( Ciro, please correct me if I'm wrong) center line and racing line.
