No difference whether we race in daylight or at night - Kubica

This weekend, Formula One is celebrating a premiere: the first night race in the history of the pinnacle of motor racing. BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica looks ahead to the Singapore Grand Prix as he talks about the race held at the "Marina Bay Circuit".

"I am looking forward to Singapore, as the Grand Prix will be the second new race of the season," says Robert Kubica. "Racing on new tracks is always interesting - I enjoy it very much and I am very excited. Furthermore, I am extremely happy to contest another street race as I am a big fan of street circuits."

In addition to the spectacular race venue, the city of Singapore, the drivers will have to cope with another special feature in the Southeast Asian metropolis. The race will start on Sunday at 20:00hrs local time (13:00hrs BST) - at night and under artificial lighting.

Robert is of the opinion that this fact isn't of major significance. "A lot of people consider it interesting that the race will start at night. But from a driver's point of view, I think it does not make a big difference whether we race in daylight or at night. There are still some question marks regarding weather conditions and - related to the chance of rain - the light situation. But I am sure the FIA have done everything to make it a safe race."
