Khan excited about Silverstone demo

The World Series by Renault returns to the UK this weekend for rounds seven and eight of the season at Silverstone. The ING Renault F1 Team will be the star attraction with demo driver Adam Khan thrilling the crowds with some laps of the Grand Prix circuit in last year’s car, the R28.

We caught up with Adam Khan to find out his thoughts on what promises to be an action-packed weekend.

Adam, you’ll be driving a Formula One car at Silverstone this weekend – you must be excited?

"Absolutely! Silverstone is my favourite track as it has some amazing high-speed corners and is a real drivers’ circuit. I’ve raced there a lot in the junior categories, but it will be really special to drive out of the pit lane in a Formula One car and experience the power and grip in the quick corners like Maggots and Becketts."

What have you got planned for the demos?  Can we expect some donuts?

"Definitely some donuts because everybody enjoys them. However, what I’m really looking forward to is completing some flying laps of the Grand Prix circuit to show the speed of the car to the crowd. A lot of the fans probably won’t have seen or heard a Formula One car before, so I’m sure they will be amazed. It will also be good experience for me to drive a recent car on one of the greatest circuits in the world."

Do you enjoy the atmosphere of these World Series events?

"These events are great as it gives fans the chance to see behind the scenes, to touch the cars and meet members of the team. I’ve heard that all the tickets have gone for this weekend so there should be a big crowd, especially on Sunday. I hope everybody enjoys seeing the car and I’ll do my best to send them home happy."
