I had no doubt in Schumachers decision - Domenicali

The relationship between the Scuderia Ferrari and Michael Schumacher spans 14 years, and despite the seven time champion retiring from driving back in 2006, the relationship is still strong as he stayed on as a team advisor. So when president Luca di Montezemolo and team principal Stefano Domenicali approached Schumacher with the idea of him replacing the hospitalized Felipe Massa, they had no doubt he would say yes.

"When Chairman Luca di Montezemolo asked Michael if he wanted to give us a hand at the moment, I understood from looking in his eyes, even before he replied, how strong are the links between Michael and the Scuderia," Domenicali said on the teams website.

"I didn't have the slightest doubt about his availability and his enthusiasm in our discussions," he continued, "And it would be a further stimulus for everyone to do well.

"It's a piece of positive news, which can be added to all the other positive updates coming from Budapest regarding Felipe's improvement. Michael's availability is a further confirmation of how strong are the human ties, even more than the professional ones, that exist between all of us at Ferrari."
