The BMW Sauber F1 Team welcomes the extension of its partnership with CERTINA. The Swiss sports watch brand has been an Official Partner to the team since 2005 and will take the cooperation forward into the 2010 season.

The CERTINA logo will occupy new space on the wing mirrors of both Formula One cars, as well as appearing on the helmets, overall cuffs and gloves of the two drivers Kamui Kobayashi (JP) and Pedro de la Rosa (ES). CERTINA will also supply team members with its precision sports watches.

Team Principal and owner Peter Sauber commented: “We are proud of the confidence CERTINA has placed in us. Together we can look back on a longstanding and successful cooperation, and we now look forward to its continuation. Precision in timekeeping and technical craftsmanship are fundamental to Formula One and our team, as they are to CERTINA. Our companies by nature share common values, which makes the partnership such a fertile one. With its new logo presence on the wing mirrors of our cars, CERTINA will enjoy considerably higher visibility.”

Adrian Bosshard, President of Certina, said: “CERTINA has for many decades been closely allied to sport and motor racing in particular. CERTINA stands for Swiss precision, innovation and dynamics, as does the BMW Sauber F1 Team and Formula One in general. The positive global response to our partnership is definitive affirmation that Formula One, as the king of motor sports, is the perfect platform for CERTINA’s brand philosophy.”
