Stefan GP hopes to be on the grid at Bahrain

Zoran Stefanovic, boss of Stefan GP, is expecting to know if his team will be on the Formula One grid at Bahrain or not next week. Stefan GP is hoping to be granted a position on the entry list in replacement of US F1, the American team which seems less and less likely to make the first race due to financial problems.

Zoran Stefanovic declared to news agency 'Reuters': "We are waiting for something to happen because the time is very short and the deadline for Bahrain is approaching. If you are going to Bahrain you have to be packed by next Wednesday and we think we will be able to reach something by then."

The option is looking more and more possible as USF1 are struggling badly to get up to speed. The team is losing sponsors and are unlikely to make it to the grid of the first couple of races. Furthermore, if their wish to be absent from the first races is denied by the FIA, the team may well see its 2010 season disappear in favor of Stefan GP.

It is rumoured that if Stefan GP makes it to the 2010 grid, they will sign Kazuki Nakajima and Jacques Villeneuve as drivers.
