BMW Sauber completed their final testing day of 2005 with Nick Heidfeld driving the V8-powered C24B. In total, the German driver covered a total of 39 laps, his best in 1’20.710. In the morning the team continued with the cooling system tests and ran engine functionality checks. They also started to work with Michelin on a tyre evaluation programme.

Later the engineers discovered heat damages in the exhaust environment as a consequence of a defect exhaust pipe. This could not be fixed anymore in the afternoon, putting an end to the team’s work.

BMW Sauber will resume testing from January 11 to 13 2006, once again at the Jerez circuit.
