Ralf targets first Toyota win

After a slow start with the Panasonic Toyota Racing Team, Ralf Schumacher's season picked up mid-season and by the final two races of the 2005 season the German found the revised TF105B front suspension more suited to his driving style.

Ralf took a superb pole position in Japan, and picked up another third place in the season finale in China and in total he finished in the points 13 times in 18 starts, and took an encouraging sixth place in the World Championship. Now Schumacher is targeting his first win with Toyota.

Ralf Schumacher "It is hard to believe that a year has gone by already. I feel very much a part of this team and it is an enjoyable work environment. You get a clear sense that everyone is pushing forward together at every level to win and I think we have demonstrated together that Toyota can be a strong force in Formula One. Of course, invariably, you have some issues that need resolving and there is always room for improvement, but we got off to a strong start and that is really a testament to the whole team.
2005 was a tremendous year for Toyota and it was a great achievement to break into the top four and I was delighted with my podiums and frequent points scoring results. There are a lot of unknowns heading into the 2006 season, but I feel that we are well prepared. The rules changes will level the playing field to a certain extent and those who react best will have the upper hand. I hope that will be Toyota in a year where we will do all we can to take Toyota's maiden victory."
