HRT to use Mercedes GP windtunnel

By on

The plagued Hispania Racing Team has secured a deal to use a windtunnel of Mercedes GP in order to develop its current F111 car. The car lacked considerable pace at Melbourne as the team struggle to get parts finished and tested in time.

The new deal allows HRT to use the windtunnel of Mercedes GP that is currently not in use due to the resource restriction agreement. It is however not yet sure how much time the team will be able to spend in the tunnel as it is already struggling to get the cash together.

Even more so, the team's current problem is getting parts built and finished, and then brought in time to the Grand Prix. At Melbourne several suspension parts got stuck in customs while its nose cone did not yet complete the mandatory FIA crash test.

HRT will have the new nose cone in Malaysia as it has meanwhile completed and passed the crash test.
