Scuderia Toro Rosso is hoping to take a giant leap forward on track this season and is therefore pleased to announce a tie up with Giant, Malaysia’s leading hypermarket chain. Giant pioneered the concept of modern supermarket shopping in Malaysia when it started trading almost seventy years ago.

Currently, this is a one race deal which will see the Giant logo appear on the barge boards and the nose of both STR6 cars and on the drivers’ race suits and shirts and our team-principal’s shirt over all three days of track action at the Malaysian Grand Prix this coming weekend.

On Wednesday, the Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers, Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari took part in a fun event at the Shah Alam Giant superstore. Along with children from a local orphanage, Seb and Jaime raced one another in a supermarket sweep, also taking on two other teams made up of local media and Giant staff. Charging down the aisles for ten minutes, they picked up as many groceries as they could, with the Swiss driver winning this first race of the weekend. Everything swept up by the drivers and their helpers, along with shopping vouchers was donated to the orphanage.
