Nico Rosberg jumped atop the timesheet in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He went 3 tenths quicker around Yes Marina that his team mate Lewis Hamilton after the latter proved fastest in both Friday sessions.
Williams' Felipe Massa found some pace compared to Friday as well, slotting into third but still a second off of pace setter Rosberg.
15 minutes from the end of the session, more trouble hit Alonso as Ferrari engines started feverish work on his Ferrari F14T after the Spaniard returned it to the pits. Alonso however still remained the 4th fastest man of the session, despite missing the entire FP2 yesterday. Yesterday's electrical issues on Alonso's car forced the Scuderia to change the engine on car #14, but being one of the allocated 5 power units, Alonso escapes a penalty.
Sebastian Vettel was similarly sidelined, with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner confirming there was an issue with the waste gate that needed to be sorted to allow further running. He was fifth fastest.
Jenson Button had a trouble free run to 6th, followed by Ricciardo, Bottas, Daniil Kvyat in the fastest Toro Rosso and Kimi Raikkonen who completed the top 10.
