Mahindra Racing has announced that Alex Lynn will race for the team in the remainder of the 2019/2020 ABB Formula E season alongside Jerome D'Ambrosio, replacing Pascal Wehlein.

Wehlerin has recently announced his departure from the Indian team with immediate effect via a message on social media. The German is exptected to join Porsche’s Formula E team, but that has not been confirmed yet.

However, Wehrlein’s replacement has been now announced with Alex Lynn taking over his seat in the remaining six races of the current season.

The 26-year-old driver has previous Formula E experiences. Lynn has already contested in 21 FE races, driving for DS Virgin Racing and Panasonic Jaguar Racing with registering his best result in the 2018 Punta del Este E-Prix with a sixth-place finish.

Lynn has a broad motorsport portfolio. One of his biggest results was his championship title in the GP3 series that he sealed in 2014 in his debut year. Previously, he also contested in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship where he registered three wins. He claimed victory in the renowned 2013 Macau Grand Prix.

In the previous two seasons, Lynn competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship where he raced for Aston Martin Racing’s LMGTE Pro category.

After having already completed two races at Berlin’s Tempelhof circuit, Lynn is looking forward to return to the venue for the season-ending six rounds.

“I am really excited to be able to represent Mahindra Racing in Berlin. I have high ambitions in this championship that match what Mahindra Racing wants to achieve.”

„I just can’t wait to get started. I’ve raced twice in Berlin before and always felt that I went well there, including appearing in Super Pole last season. The format of Berlin is going to be exciting and challenging at the same time and I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running.”
