Paul Monaghan extends his contract with Red Bull

Chief Engineer Paul Monaghan has extended his contract with reigning world champion team Red Bull, Autosport has reported after the opening day for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Following the controversy around team boss Christian Horner over the winter, it was suggested that several key members of the technical department of Red Bull might depart from the Milton Keynes-based outfit in the coming months.

While the initial reports did not realize, Red Bull endured a huge blow on the 1st of May when Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey announced his departure from Milton Keynes. The British engineer will continue to work for Red Bull until the first quarter of 2025, but he will gradually shift his focus to Red Bull's Hypercar project that will be launched in early summer.

With Newey set to leave Red Bull, the Anglo-Austrian team has been eager to secure the stability of its technical team, stopping rival teams from luring key technical members away.

In recent weeks, it has emerged that three key technical member Pierre Wache, Enrico Balbo and Ben Waterhouse have extended their contract with Red Bull. It means the Wache will continue to work as Technical Director, Balbo as Head of Aerodynamics and Waterhouse as Head of Performance Engineering.

Autosport has now reported that Paul Monaghan has also signed a new contract with the reigning world champion squad which means that the team should maintain its stability in terms of technical organization.
